To care for your new plated piece please refrain from polishing any plated items. Our plated jewellery is made by covering a base metal (usually sterling silver) with a layer of 9K or 14k Gold.
Lightly wipe your plated jewellery with a soft jewellery cloth to gently restore shine. This will help eliminate any dirt or dust from accumulating on the surface and wearing away the plated layer.

With proper care, vermeil plating can last longer than gold plated jewellery. Our vermeil plating is from 2 - 2.5 microns, which is thicker than our gold plated jewellery. The base is usually 925 silver. We still recommend our customers follow the same care guidelines as our gold plated jewellery to maintain the lustre/shine of your piece, as well as the plating.
925 sterling silver contains 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% copper. Sterling Silver pieces will be stamped with 925. As with any metal, Sterling Silver can and will most likely tarnish over time. Tarnish is completely normal - so do polish your piece regularly. The most common and effective way to polish sterling silver is to use a polish cloth. Gently polish the surface making long, straight strokes. Store your silver in a cool, dry place, preferably in a bag or tarnish preventative pouch or box. Silver jewellery can be suitable for daily wear, but it's a good idea to take off your silver pieces before any activity that could cause damage.
